THAT John Frusciante guitar

Regardless of your view on the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, it is hard to argue that John Frusciante is one of the most innovative rock guitarist of the last 25 years, but for many, it is his love of a beautiful guitar that makes him special.  Since re-joining Red Hot Chilli Peppers in 1998, you are lucky to find an image of Frusciante playing live with any electric guitar made in the last 53 years and his beautiful pre-CBS Fender 1962 Stratocaster is enough to make any guitar geek go weak at the knees.  The vintage instrument was a gift from the band’s singer Anthony Kiedis when a drug free Frusciante was courted back to RHCP after leaving in 1992. The well-used Strat has a three-tone sunburst finish, slab rosewood fretboard with three single coil pickups and is synonymous with the sound and tone Frusciante is known for.

And to make him even more of a hero to the muso-classes, when John left RHCP again in 2010 rather than concern himself with anything as grubby as money, he would now gives away his music – and it’s safe to assume that his prized Strat is getting plenty of studio time on this free and legal download you can pick up from the man directly  https://soundcloud.com/jfdirectlyfromjf/darts-of-war-inst
