Here’s to Terry Jones, Monty Python’s worthy member

Terry Jones
What is your first thought when you hear the phrase “brilliant humour”? Ours is Monty Python’s Flying Circus. That’s why we want to wish a happy 76th birthday to a valuable member of the Monty Python troupe.

Terry Jones, we point at you.

Terry’s contribution to the show has been among most crucial. He came up with a ton of fresh ideas. Conceptual humour of the Monty Python was given more freedom, and Terry also showed an interest for visual expression. He helped push the show over the edge of conventional style.

As for his acting roles in the show, you must remember his middle-aged ladies, eh? Alongside Palin, he performed in many brilliant sketches. And not all of them were solely based on the absurdity, so characteristic of Pythons. They actually had decent scenarios.

But John also knows how to make the show without saying much.

Listen to what other Pythons have said about Terry, about his dedication to details, his attitude to his Yorkshire accent, his initiative in innovations… They cooperated with him for so long, so if anyone knows him really well, that would be them.

The news that Terry Jones has been diagnosed with dementia was among the saddest news we have ever heard.

Here’s a tribute to this brilliant actor, comedian, writer, to this great man.
